Snowy Gingerbread Roof Tutorial
To make the Snowy Gingerbread Roof you need:
Gingerbread cookie dough for centerpieces
- As you can see in the picture below I brushed some royal icing on the roof cookies, just to make sure my next royal application is no show through.
- Using a super clever plastic wrap in the piping bag idea from Karen’s Cookies – you can watch her tutorial here, (at 1:11) I filled my piping bag with medium stiff icing fitted with a small leaf tip.
- As you can see, I started piping the roof on already assembled house, starting at the bottom working my way up, in rows I piped small leaves /shingles.Continue piping leaves until you get to the top of the roof. Sprinkle with sanding sugar. Repeat on the opposite roof, again apply sanding sugar once done.
- Once both sides are done, you may notice a gap between, if this is the case just fill the gap with icing and add additional row of piped shingles until you are happy with how it looks
- Let the icing dry and you are done.
