Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Smoothie



I've always loved oats, straight from the box mixed with yogurt and fresh fruit, cooked with milk into a cream of oats. The fact is I try to add oats to pretty much everything I cook and bake. I stopped buying other cereal about 1.5 years ago because of all the added sugar it has.
Today I wanted share with you a an easy breakfast smoothie. You can enjoy it sitting down at a kitchen table or pour into a mug and take into the road on those busy mornings.



 Cinnamon Oatmeal Smoothie(2 servings)
1/2cup oats
1 1/4 cup fat free milk
1tbl ground flax seeds
1/4cup plain Greek yogurt
1apple, cored and chopped
1/4cup frozen raspberries
1tbl honey
1tsp cinnamon
1tbl  dry egg whites
  • In a small bowl combine oats, milk, flax seeds and yogurt. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • In the morning, put the oat mixture into a blender, add chopped apple, raspberries, honey, cinnamon, dry egg whites and blend until almost smooth. Mixture will be frothy.
  • Pour smoothie into 2 glasses and serve.
  • I ended up saving one for later, just cover it with plastic wrap and enjoy when you come home from work later in the day. Just stir it and enjoy.
