Flower Bird Cookies

It seems like yesterday but in fact it was at least 6 months ago when and Anna from Lovemook and I started to chat about cookies for Eva, Anna’s gorgeous little girl.First we were talking about butterfly cookies but as Eva’s birthday got closer Anna told me Eva loves birds and so her birthday party will be all about cute birds.
I forgot to mention that Anna makes custom hand knitted clothing for babies, toddlers and even adults. I’m in love with her hats, in fact I’m so much in love with them that I offered Anna a swap. Cookies for Hats. She is making  hats for my nieces and I will not hide that I’m so very excited about them.
Flower Bird Cookie design was drawn from the image  that was used as party invitation below

~I wanted to try something new, I decided  to add a little dimension using  the bird’s wing. Here is how accomplished this part:
After I hand cut all the cookies(you can learn how to make your own cookie template here), I rolled a really thin piece and cut out  a wing then I brushed each piece with a little bit of water, and attached it to the base cookies, you can see it in the picture below. I started baking these at 370F for 4 minutes then I turned the oven down to 360F for another 5 minutes.

Here is how I started. Tree branch was applied using a wet on wet technique, after all the flooded areas dried I piped all the dotted flowers, leaves and  the name Eva.
