Make fun dental food prank.
4 Servings of Denture Jello Dessert
Spray denture silicone mold with a non-stick spray. Wipe off residue. Set aside
In a medium size bowl sprinkle gelatin (1 tbsp) over cold water (1/4 cup). Let bloom for 5-10 minutes.
While gelatin is blooming in a small bowl gradually whisk sweetened condensed milk (1/4 cup) into a room temperature cream cheese (3 tbsp). Whisk till well combined and homogeneous.
Heat water (1/2 cup) to boil. Pour hot water (1/2 cup) into a bowl with bloomed gelatin. Stir well till all of the gelatin is dissolved. Let cool slightly, for about 5 minutes. Then gradually whisk in sweetened condensed/cream cheese mixture. Mixture will be white.
TIP : If desired stir in 1/8 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)
Place prepared silicone mold on a flat tray. With a 1/2 teaspoon measure fill the denture mold cavities only up to the line where the teeth meet the gums. Stick tray with silicone mold into the fridge and allow white gelatin mixture to partly set, about 15 minutes.
Prepare pink mixture to make the gum part of the denture. I decided to use raspberry jello for more flavor.
TIP : You can skip the next step and instead add small amount of pink food coloring to the remaining white mixture.
Into a small bowl pour raspberry jello powder (1 tsp), pour hot water over it ( 2 tbsp), stir well until powder is completely dissolved. Pour raspberry pink mixture into the remaining white mixture. White mixture will turn pink
Take silicone mold with white mixture partly set out of the fridge and with a tablespoon measure pour pink mixture over white layer. Fill the denture mold to the top. Return silicone mold to the fridge and allow to set for several hours.
Gently loosen the edges by stretching the mold with your hand. Then turn the mold upside down and gently shake out the jello dentures out of the mold. Place them onto a plate. Cover and store in the fridge until ready to use.
In a medium size bowl sprinkle gelatin (3 tbsp) over cold fruit juice or water (1 cup). Let sit to bloom for 5-10 minutes.
While gelatin is blooming, into a medium size pot pour water (4 cups), granulated sugar (1 cup), citric acid (1/2 tsp). Heat on medium heat until sugar and citric acid is completely dissolved. Bring the mixture almost to the boil, till hot.
Pour hot water mixture into a bowl, over bloomed gelatin. Stir until gelatin is completely dissolved. Take a toothpick and dip the tip of a toothpick into a sky blue gel food coloring. Dip the colored end of the toothpick into the hot water/gelatin mixture. Stir well, until mixture is colored light blue. Let the mixture cool to lukewarm to room temperature. About 10-15 minutes. Pour blue jello mixture into a funnel pitcher.
FIY : I used a small bowl to bloom gelatin and so I had to scoop it out and whisk it into the hot water instead.
Prepare 4 drinking glasses, with at least 1 cup capacity.
Pour 1/4 cup of light blue jello into a drinking glass. Then place prepared jello denture on the bottom of the glass. Refrigerate for 15 minutes, till partly set. Then top it off with the remaining blue jello mixture. Refrigerate for several hours until set.
Serving suggestion : enjoy with a dollop of toothpaste - I mean whipped cream.
Yes, you can. I use cream cheese for more flavor.
Absolutely, if you can get your hands on it. I could't find it in the store and so prepared my own.
Keep it covered and refrigerated for up to 5 days.
