For months I wanted to make pinwheels. I know a very simple thing to do and pretty ordinary too. But when made with pretty papers they can be rather cute and used for variety of things.
I found this wonderful blog ~allsorts~ with a free template and directions for a Patriotic Pinwheel, so I thought why not use it to make a topper for a dessert or a cupcake, ice cream cone for the 4th of July.
I saved the template and resized it to about 2.4inch/6cm/ x 2.4/6cm/
The pinwheels I made can’t turn, I skipped that step/I was a little lazy, plus I couldn’t find the beads big enough, I thought I had some but they were too too small/, but you sure can make them spin. I used a small flower shaped brad to hold all the corners in the center. And I simply glued the stick to the back..and voila.
Have a great day.
soo adorable!! Now i know what to do with all these pretty colored papers! There's a shop selling it at a discount now and everytime i walk pass not sure if i should buy it cos not sure if i'll use it..but now seems like i can do pretty stuff with them! thanks for sharing!
Those are so cute! My daughter has one of the first birthdays of the school year & I've already begun thinking about it. I think pinwheels in cupcakes would go over wildly with her class. 🙂 I love the patriotic ones. I think I'll play with them this weekend. I'm making red, white, & blue cupcakes. Perfect topper.
SUPER-CUTE!
What a great idea 🙂
