Carrie from The Bella Cupcake Couture invited me to be a part of Back to School Cupcake Party. Earlier in August Carrie sent me 6 plain white cupcake wrappers with some pretty paper drinking straws. My job was to find a child who would want to decorate these with crayons, markers, paper stickers etc. I knew just a young girl for the job. Katie, my friend, little miss fashionista. She always creates, loves to work with paper, clay, glass, fabric and is a loyal fan of The Project Runway show. She was perfect for the task at hand.
When I got to Katie’s house, she wore her favorite color – green, fashionable sunglasses and had a really cute manicure. I loved the whole ensemble. With the help of her mom we set up a table for her to use. I brought some paper decorations, we had crayons, markers, pencils, ribbons, gems…let the fun begin…
I baked the Vanilla Cupcakes earlier in the day and I bought the frosting from the grocery store.
After we finished the cupcakes I also asked Katie few questions.
1. What is your favorite cupcake flavor?
Vanilla. 2. What has been your favorite moment from this summer?
Making Cupcakes and Falling Water trip. 3. What are you most looking forward to when you go back to school?
Meeting new people and making new friends. 4. What do you want to be when you grown up?
Don’t forget to enter an amazing giveaway at the end of this post! But before you do, have a look at all the fun Katie had decorating cupcake wrappers from The Bella Cupcake Couture.
Seeing how much fun Katie had decorating the cupcake sleeves was the best part of the day for me.
Katie’s favorite design was plaid cupcake wrapper she made.
They wanted a cupcake, instead they got a kiss.
Katie frosted all the cupcake on her own. She has never frosted cupcake before so I showed her how to do a swirl. She was making swirls like a pro.
Piping bag was fitted with a large star tip.
Sprinkles time! It was Katie’s idea to add some sprinkles. She found some in the kitchen pantry and added blue and red sprinkles on each cupcake.
Best part of the cupcake making? Eating a cupcake!
