Red and Gold Christmas Holly Cookies

As you know  I have a great affection for shimmer on cookies, mainly I use a wet application of luster dust and  I just started using Pearl Spray Mist earlier this year. I haven’t really been using a lot of sprays nor I own fancy airbrush. But, I’m falling for  metallic sprays and I believe my resistance to airbrush will be broken by  the end of the next year. Well maybe. But until I own one of  those  air brush things here is a little tutorial on decorating cookies with Color Spray.
To make these cookies you will need :
Red, Forest Green, Leaf green gel food coloring
Stencil – I got mine from a craft store, you can also make one yourself using stencil blanks, or if you prefer using all food grade stencils you can venture over to Designer Stencils, they offer variety of stencils applicable on cakes and cookies.
Wilton color Color Mist – bought mine at a craft store -Michael’s, look in the baking isle
  • Ice the baked cookies with red royal icing, let dry completely.
  • Using stencil and gold color mist, apply stencil onto the cookie.Let dry.
  • Pipe small holly leaves, add red berries, let dry. I used a combination of forest green and leaf green to color my icing.
  • Pipe a white border, sprinkle or dip into the sanding sugar.
  • Done.

Easy and festive Christmas cookies
