Haniela's: ~Dance Recital Cookie Dessert Table~

~Dance Recital Cookie Dessert Table~

Sunday, June 5, 2011

This weekend I'm attending a 2 day Dance Recital with my Cookie Dessert Table. In case you missed it I made a Ballerina Ruffle Cake for the same dance studio in the Fall last year. It was one of my favorite cakes of the year.
I can't believe their school year has come to end. They are amazing young dancers.
Last night they put on an amazing show, and I can't wait to see more today.

I thought it would be fun to include different style T-shirt Cookies.
I don't own a T-shirt cutter so I use Onesie cutter and just trimmed the bottom. I think it worked pretty well.

Cookie was trimmed before it was baked to create T-shirt Shape

Silhouette Cookies

Hooded Sweatshirt Cookies

I wasn't quite sure how to decorate the table so it would be very Ballerina like and suddenly it dawned on me to include Ballerina Silhouettes. Thankfully I had some heavy scrapbooking paper so I cut out several silhouettes and I attached them with double sided tape onto the table cloth.
Pretty right?

Another fun part of the table was a "TUTU" box. I had this vision in my had and so I gave it a shot. I  have lots of fabric scraps in the house that use to take my food photos and so I thought I could use some of it to create "TUTU" box.
This is what it looks like. This picture bellow is just to show you how fabric hangs over.On my cookie dessert table skirt part was laying on the table.
I could see it done with a satin fabric on the top to create more wavy look as well.
I added 3 ribbons, making a bow at 3 directions, this is to kind of represent pointe shoes.

Here is what it looks on the table

And this is what my table looked like
