Double Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

Today I decided to share with you a really yummy recipe for Double Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting.
These cupcakes where made  for an engagement party and I will be sharing the whole dessert table this week, for now I thought I’d share a yummy recipe for the frosting.
I guarantee you’ll be licking the beaters once you’ll  whip it up.

Double Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting (for about 36 regular size cupcakes)

2 packages of cream cheese
1 1/2sticks of room temperature butter
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar(use more if desired)
1 1/2tsp vanilla extract
1tsp chocolate liqueur( use only when not making for kids)
4tbl  heavy cream (you can substitute for sour cream)
1/2 cup good quality cocoa powder
1 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate, melted and cooled
Mix cream cheese until smooth, add butter and mix until smooth, add powdered sugar and mix on low speed until combined, increase the speed and beat for 2 minutes  until smooth, on low speed add cocoa powder, mix until combined and smooth,  add vanilla extract, chocolate liqueur(if using), melted chocolate and beat until combined and smooth, add heavy cream, until smooth. If frosting gets too soft, chill it for 15 minutes, if you leave it longer it may get too hard to pipe.Frost the cupcakes or a cake.
