With only few more days left in 2010 I will be sharing one more apple dessert with you. There are7,500 varieties of apples grown throughout the world. Did you know that one apple has 5 grams of fiber? Apples are amazingly versatile, you can eat them raw, cook them and make applesauce, dry…
What do you do when somebody doesn’t like a cake? Bridgid celebrating her 9th Birthday doesn’t like cake. Her mom suggested one giant chocolate chip cookie instead. I thought about it, then I suggested … remember 3D Cookie Cupcake by Callye from Sweet Sugarbelle’s ? I thought to myself : “That’s it!” I had a…
Let’s surprise mom with something special today. How about Meringue Sunflowers? I always seem to have extra egg whites in the fridge. You see one of my favorite things of my childhood was and undeniable still is freshly whipped meringue. I used to help my mom as a kid, especially on…
Last week I was visiting Whatever Dee Dee Wants. Dianna aka Dee Dee asked me to participate in The Give Thanks Series she is having on her site. You can check out my post here. It didn’t take me long to decide what I wanted to make for this project. I had just bought lots…
It is Saturday morning, I just took these photos, getting ready to leave and transport this 12 inch “beast” to the location, only 30 minutes away, but I’m still dreading it. It is always so stressful when you are traveling with the cake. Yesterday when I did my crumb coat on it, I just…
Summer is in full swing and we’ve been enjoying outdoor grilling, nearly every day now. Last weekend we had a couple of friends over and so I decided to try new recipes, not the best time to play with new stuff but that’s just me. I’m guilty of not taking a picture of my…
This cake is beautiful and my inspiration for a cake I am doing this weekend. Just did a test design on parchment.
Would you offer any tips on removing and adding to the side of a round cake?
Thank you
Hi Stacy,
Are you using royal icing or buttercream transfers?
My royal icing transfers weren’t that big so they were pretty easy to remove from the wax paper/parchment.
This is what I’d do: I’d lay transfer in the palm of my hand and then I’d carefully peel off wax paper.
To attach these to the side of the cake you can use little buttercream. I prefer attaching them onto a chilled cake so when you use buttercream for the glue it sets
fairly quickly and keeps transfers from moving.
Thank you everyone.
Maysem, thank you for your kind words, I'm sure you'll make a beautiful cake. Making ruffles is fun. Good luck
