Broccoli Cheese Pasta Casserole

I’m hooked on vegetables and I love broccoli. This year we built a new garden, and first time we  planted broccoli, not really knowing what to expect. It is flourishing and I’m enjoying broccoli raw, steamed or today I made this delicious Broccoli Cheese Pasta Casserole. It is so yummy.

I also didn’t know that broccoli heads are flowers. What  tasty flowers!

 Broccoli Cheese Pasta Casserole Recipe
250grams pasta of your choice, I used whole grain pasta
500grams broccoli heads
4 eggs
200 grams grated cheese / I used low moisture mozzarella, you can experiment with the cheeses you like/
1 container sour cream/about 2 cups/

1 heavy cream/about 1cup/
150 grams ham /optional/
salth, pepper to season
Butter
Herbs/optional/

oven 350F
-prepare cheese mixture: using a whisk mix together sour cream and heavy cream, add eggs using fork or whisk break the eggs and whisk until combined, add grated cheese and fold in. Season with salt and pepper, if desired use your favorite herbs. /if using ham, this would be the time you would add ham chopped into small pieces/
-cook pasta according to dirrections
-cook broccoli for 5-6 minutes in boiling water with a pinch of salt, or in a microwave with few tbls of water on high for 3 minutes, let cool to lukewarm, separate broccoli heads

-butter large casserole dish
-add pasta and broccoli into the cheese mixture, using wooden spoon combine all the ingredients
-pour the broccoli cheese pasta mixture into a prepared dish
-bake at 350F uncovered for about 50 minutes or until the cheese mixture is set and top is golden brown
-let cool for 10 minutes and enjoy
-serve  with tomato, cucumber salad or alone.

  1. Wow..i envy that broccoli garden of yours! Must be quite fun to eat something from your garden, esp. fruit of your labour. I love broccoli too!! And your Broccoli Cheese Pasta looks so mouthwatering! Yummy! Strangely, now i'm reading your post almost dinner time….so as usual, i'm hungry after looking at your gorgeous pasta and photos..lol!
